CANOLU
method

CANOLU ( Cabeça em Lugar - "head in place" ) was created by Dr. Thiago Takara - a physiotherapist for over 20 years and former Brazilian National Judo Team PT. It is also known as Cranial-fascial Symmetry and Head-Mandibular Symmetry.

This technique consists of manual maneuvers performed exclusively on the head, designed to access and release the cranial fascial system—an area that exerts a profound influence over the entire body, yet is frequently overlooked. Each session is unique, as every individual brings their own personal history, tensions, and needs.

Cranial fascial restrictions can be the root cause of headaches, cervical tension, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) issues, and respiratory or sleep disorders, among other symptoms that affect one’s quality of life and overall bodily function.

Head-Mandibular Symmetry is more than myofascial release.

It is a manual approach that works with the craniofascial and mandibular system, focusing not only on soft tissues but also on neural activation, sensory input and the nervous system's ability to adapt.

Through specific, gentle craniofascial maneuvers, the goal is to influence neuromuscular coordination, sensory processing, and the relationship between the head, jaw and cervical region.

It's not just about releasing tension. It's about changing the way the brain perceives, organizes, and controls the head and mandibular system.

The objective is to support a more balanced, functional pattern that the nervous system may learn to maintain beyond the manual session.
