DANCE

Marcelin started with the basic ballet/tap combo as a toddler and expanded on from there into other genres including jazz, lyrical, Celtic (Irish step), hip hop and pom. Through her childhood she was a competitive dancer and studied under the instruction of marvelous teachers including Susan Pallas, Kim McSwain, Carlos Jones and Melinda Cordell.

It was during her college years at The University of California, Santa Barbara where Marcelin began her discovery and study of modern and contemporary dance. She felt both fortunate and honored to be given an incredible education by tremendous guest and visiting artists, in addition to the extraordinary faculty including Tonia Shimin, Christopher Pilafian, Nancy Colahan, Valerie Huston, Stephanie Nugent and Jerry Pearson.

Upon graduation, she moved to Los Angeles where she continued her career in dance through the Arts & Entertainment Industry. She has worked with a variety of collaborators and performances including Regional Theater productions and professional sports teams.

Alongside dance performance and choreography, Marcelin also has experience in stage managing, fundraising and operational aspects of performance and production. She has worked with variety of artists and organizations including LUMINARIO BALLET of Los Angeles and was part of the original discussion for hopes of LADF2020 with many of Los Angeles' dance professionals, including Nigel Lythgoe and Debbie Allen.

Marcelin holds certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Sugarfoot Therapy (SFT) techniques. She is available for dance choreography, technique and conditioning and integrates these into her trainings and workshops.
