GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® method is an original and unique movement practice consisting of the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods, created by Juliu Horvath, that offer similar benefits also derived from roots in Yoga, Tai Chi, and dance.

The GYROTONIC® Method

Gyrotonic exercise sequences are composed of spiraling, circular movements, which flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions, with corresponding breath.

With Gyrotonic exercise, each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These sequences are done on the Cobra Pulley Tower and/or other pieces of specialized equipment.

The GYROKINESIS® Method

Gyrokinesis exercise is a movement method that addresses the entire body - opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement.

Sequences done standing, on a stool or on a mat. It coordinates movement, breath and mental focus in a traditional 60 minute or 90 minute class, or variety of other specialized formats.
